Reflection on outcomes since last tutorial
I had sent Angela links to recent launch of theViewergallery, and discussed all that it entailed. As concerns MA, all recent work has been about this, and so when it comes to compiling work for upcoming assessment, the challenge is to show not only how this is something to do with my practice, but my actual practice. Angela asked me some apt questions, such as the artist/curator roles – whether they conflict, and whether theViewergallery is in some way a distraction to personal work. These questions make me realise how unconflicted and how relatively straightforward this gallery progression is for me – it’s all about creating a context around my work – that’s the penny dropping somewhat thanks to MA – before, I may have done this, but would probably be showing all my own work in the screening. Now I understand the importance of context actually embedded within the work and presentation.
I realise that the gallery is a further frame I am putting around my own work – shaping it to my ideas according to what is available. It’s going to look like my practice, and comprise activities of my practice – therefore, it really is a manifestation of my practice.

Current projected aims and outcomes
It is a bit of a creative challenge to present the gallery and the screening for assessment, but once I have read through the OCA assessment criteria, I think that will be no real problem, because I do feel very clear about the impulse to work like this, and the progression towards it spurred by the MA. I am actually a natural multi-tasker, and the gallery and screening ideas create a platform for alot of my creative pursuits – for me, it’s about making my practice viable.
After this current batch of work, essays, assessment, etc, I am looking forward to making more personal work – once I have completed also upcoming Vessels bottles project. I’m also looking forward to further thoughts and plans that will occur once the experience of theViewergallery launch has brewed for a while in my mind.

Discussion and recommendations
Matching and linking what I have done for theViewergallery to the MA requirements, in a creative way, a way that works and is helpful for me, while fulfilling the guidelines of the MA, is the next task – the follow through. Realising it is how to follow through to the outside – the world. My instinct is still to work in isolation, but I have discovering ways to do that symbiotically with other artists.
