I met Chris Grady who arranges a programme of free art consultancy sessions for artists.
He has worked in theatre for some time, as administrator, organiser, facilitator.
We had being Arts Council assessors in common, and so had a great start talking about that.
I had come to discuss possibilities of theViewergallery, and how I may in time get it up and running, and perhaps paying for itself.
A couple of days later my thoughts are still spinning with all the possibilities we discussed.
He did not do what I had hoped he would not - a lot of double negatives way of saying he did not bombard me with advice, lists of what to do and what not to do, but actually listened and presented new ways of looking at what I have and what I have already done - ways of being productive, proactive and viable without completely changing my personality.
It was a long and generous conversation which linked so many of my own resources and possibilities together.
I have a whole new load of lists and plans for theViewergallery to make for next year, and I will do that when I have a moment. I'm looking forward to getting going.
It's funny that usually you look around and already have the resources, the experience, the ideas and contacts in place, and if not exactly in place, then reachable and doable.
As a vehicle for projects, my practice and enterprises, theViewergallery is:
sponsorable
flexible
resourceful
valuable
adaptable
possible
enterprising
viable
