Contemporary Video

This not-quite accurate article (When artists first began using film and video tape (ah, the nostalgia) in the 1960s and 1970s) (Video art history starts earlier), nonetheless emphasises the reinvention characterised by successful moving images artists.

Has video art become obsolete?
The term itself seems old-fashioned, but today's best video artists – from Tony Oursler to Elizabeth Price – have managed to uniquely reinvent the whole art form:
