This was a brilliant making day on 14th June. I wanted to start working on the school photographs, and found my technique which is the key to making this piece, achieving positive and negative together, and all the layers of possibilities of that with a reflective base - can achieve so many essential variations with this.

Already have this scanned. Tried printing onto some silver
card. Doesn’t scan well, but takes photos including gleaming light. I want to
give myself a palette of variations and subtleties to use from each image which
I will be layering in to the moving image. Seeing what works and what seems to
be revealed by each different treatment.

Very exciting discovery. If I solarise the images which were on silver card, there are aspects of positive and negative which appear in both the positive and negative images. Very very wonderful.
One of my personal art manifesto rules is that I don’t include a computer generated effect through a photographic programme that I could not reproduce manually in a dark room if needed. It’s part of keeping control and not letting the computer do the work.
At the end of the day, the ink on the silver card was fading, and eventually dissolved. How wonderfully ephemeral.
